How many of you have cruised any of the rivers of the world? These original 'highways' of Europe was how goods were transported and civilization expanded. There is so much history and beauty to see along the riverbanks, making them a unique travel experience.

I'm sure you've heard of Viking River Cruises, but there are a number of different cruise lines, each with a different flavor and offerings across a multitude of various rivers.
You may think of river cruising as unique to Germany or Europe in general. There are river cruises in Africa, Amazon and the United States.
River cruising once had the reputation of being for a 'more mature crowd'. While that may have been true in the past, it certainly isn't now.
